Publishing Date: 02/06/2008 02:00:00 PM
The Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) thanked its faculty and staff for a year of remarkable achievements at a recent end-of-year cocktail reception held in the Council Chamber of the Meng Wah Complex.
The highlight of the celebration was a souvenir presentation ceremony for three retiring colleagues, Mr. David Wong, Mr. Edward Chiu and Dr. Jim Newton, who joined the Faculty in 1976, 1979 and 1981 respectively. Dean Gary Biddle presented on behalf of the Faculty, souvenir plaques to the three colleagues as a token of our sincere gratitude for their outstanding contributions and commitment to the Faculty. During the ceremony, Mr. Wong, Mr. Chiu and Dr. Newton shared with us anecdotes on life back in the 70s and 80s in “the Department of Management Studies” and “School of Business” under the Faculty of Social Sciences, prior to the establishment of FBE.
The Dean also took the opportunity to extend his deepest appreciation to all faculty and staff for their dedication and great teamwork which have produced a most successful year for FBE. Thank you again, everyone!
