1. How many places are there for programmes offered by FBE?

^ The combined quota for 6767 BEcon/BEcon&Fin, 6781 BBA/BBA(Acc&Fin) and 6860 BFin(AMPB) is 305. Up to 20 places will be allocated to 6860 BFin(AMPB). The final distribution of quota is subject to the number of applications and quality of applicants of the year. 

 

2. What is the selection principle of the Faculty’s programmes?

We adopt the “4C+2X” principle in calculating the admission scores.

For BSc(QFin), M1/M2 must be included and the best elective will be considered.

 

3. What are the University’s and the Faculty’s minimum entrance requirements for HKDSE students?

4. Are there any additional requirements for FBE programmes?

 For BBA(IS):

  • Level 3 in one subject from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, Integrated Science, or ICT
  • Students studying extended Module 1 or 2 of Mathematics will be given a bonus

 

For BSc(QFin):

  • Level 3 in Extended Module 1 or 2 of Mathematics

 

For BBA(Law)&LLB:

  • English:  Level 5
  • Chinese:  Level 4

 

5. Will there be heavier weighting for any particular subjects in HKDSE?

English Language and Mathematics.

6. If I had multiple attempts in HKDSE, is there any penalty?

There is no penalty for any retrial of DSE.

7. Do you interview HKDSE applicants?

Optional interviews will be offered to shortlisted applicants. For BBA(IBGM) programme, interview is compulsory.

8. Will applicants who put FBE programme in Band B be considered?

Yes, but applicants are reminded that places are limited and there are many strong applicants. The chance of Band B applicants being admitted is very low. There was only 1 band B applicant admitted to the Faculty in the past two JUPAS admissions exercise (i.e. 2015 and 2016 exercises).
