Biography
Graduated with a PhD in business administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business (formerly Western Business School), The University of Western Ontario, Canada, I returned to Hong Kong and joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as an Assistant Professor of Information and Systems Management in 1992. I was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in July 1998.  Between October 1996 and April 1999, I was Associate Dean and Director of Undergraduate Programs of the School of Business & Management.  

I moved to the School of Business, Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Hong Kong  (HKU) in May 1999.  From July 2001 to June 2005 and from September 2010 to August 2011, I was Associate Dean and BBA Program Director.  Currently at HKU, I am a   Professor in the area of Information Systems and also Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) in the Faculty.

In March 2007, I was appointed as a Visiting Professor of Dalian University of Technology,  In Fall 2007, I spent September and October at the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.  In 2008, I spent my Summer at the School of Accounting and Information Systems of Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. In both November 2009 and April 2011, I visited the School of Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China.  In 2010, I was appointed as a Chang Jiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education, the People's Republic of China.
