Synopsis
Dr. Min Zhu will begin by discussing the profound changes we are observing around the globe. Financial interconnectedness is intensifying and economic strengths of advanced economies and emerging markets are changing. At the same time, external imbalances are worse than a decade ago, even though not as intense as on the eve of the global financial crisis. Next, Dr. Zhu will describe how these changes are affecting capital flows around the globe, paying particular attention to flows from advanced economies to emerging markets. Dr. Zhu will conclude by discussing policy implications for both advanced economies and emerging market economies.
