“IMBA Guest Talks” have been arranged for IMBA students and alumni in Fudan since 2012. The main purpose of these talks is for HKU teachers who do not teach IMBA and for other guest speakers to share their expertise with you.
We are happy to bring you another Guest Talk in the evening of May 22 (Friday). The speaker is Dr. Steven Xu (徐湃博士), assistant professor of economics at The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Xu’s research areas are industrial organization and applied microeconomics. The focus of his current research is on auctioning and the market process. Abstract: | 招投标一直以来都作为市场运作中主要的定价和分配制度而备受推崇。在这种制度下，竞争与效率都似乎显而易见，以致在当今的经济活动中，尤其是在政府主导的活动中，招投标就堂而皇之的被贴上了“公平与效率”的标签，而它的结果也更毋庸置疑的被认定为了市场的产物。
我们在讲座中将主要探讨招投标的理解和实践是不是存在误区、经济学家是如何诠释招投标过程、和迄今为止有哪些共识是对我们实践中有借鉴意义的比如说，竞争就真的意味着参与者越多越好么？经济学本身如何在机制设计过程中提供帮助，以及如何在国外的招标实例运作中，学习到务实的经验。 |
