Graduands who are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony will receive an invitation by email. If you have questions on your eligibility to graduate, please contact your respective programme office directly.
Registration:
Yes. Online registration is required for both graduands and guests. You can apply for your ticket to attend the Graduation Ceremony in late September/early October after receiving an invitation email from the Faculty. The link to register for the graduation ceremony will be included in your invitation email.
The deadline for student registration for the 2019 Graduation Ceremony is October 15, 2019. Graduands must indicate their attendance even if they are not applying for guest tickets.
Unfortunately you cannot register for the graduation ceremony after the registration system closed. Please contact us via email if you have any questions.
Degrees will be conferred on all eligible graduands during the Faculty-based Congregation Sessions, including those who are in absentia. Attendance at the Congregation will not affect graduands' graduation status/eligibility.
Admission Tickets:
Grandaunds will receive an email invitation which will include a link where they can register for admission tickets for themselves and their guests. Only TWO guest tickets can be requested.
A maximum of TWO guest tickets can be requested. Please note if there is an over demand for the guest tickets, the number of guest tickets allocated to graduands may be less than requested. You will receive a confirmation email after the registration closed.
Please note that NO guest ticket will be distributed on-site at HKCEC on the event day. Guests without tickets may consider in-person standby (i.e. walk-ins) on the ceremony day, only if the venue has not reached it maximum capacity. Entry to the ceremony venue is NOT guaranteed for walk-in guests.

All admission tickets MUST be collected during a stipulated period, in person or by authorising a third person. NO mailing service will be provided. Registered graduands will be notified the final number of ticket(s) allocated to them, together with the details of admission ticket collection arrangement via email after the registration period ended.
The Graduation Ceremony may not be suitable for babies or young children as it is a formal occasion with long ceremonial proceedings. If you decide to bring your children, you will also need to register their guest tickets.
Visa:
If you are attending the Graduation Ceremony, you will receive a confirmation email in October. If you require a copy of the invitation letter in advance to support your visa application, please contact us via email.
Please note that the Faculty is unable to provide additional invitation letter to support visa applications for guests. We recommend that you and your guests meet all necessary visa requirements well in advance of the ceremony to avoid any inconvenience.
Academic Dress & Certificate:
Academic dress is on loan free of charge to Graduands of Class of 2019 during the loan and return period. For details on the collection of gown, please refer to https://www4.hku.hk/congreg/academic-dress/arrangement-for-class-of-2019.
You are required to bring a full set of academic dress and to ensure proper attire is worn together the academic regalia. You may wish to bring safety pins to secure the gown and hood in place. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking up and down the stage steps. For suggested attire, please refer to https://www4.hku.hk/congreg/academic-dress/suggested-attire.
Academic dress is mandatory for graduands attending the Faculty Graduation Ceremony. Graduands who are not in full academic dress will NOT be presented on stage.
No academic dress will be available for loan on the event day.

Ceremony Photos
All graduates are welcome to join the group photo session after the Graduation Ceremony. The group photos and some selected ceremony snapshots, can be downloaded in this website in early December. For other individual photos, download information will be available after the Graduation Ceremony.
