Biography

Anna Wai-Kwan Wong received B.A. from the University of Hong Kong, M.B.A. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Juris Doctor from the University of Hong Kong.

Anna has an extensive experience in banking and finance.  She had worked in major financial institutions including Citigroup, HSBC, Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and the Chase Manhattan Bank, covering private banking, asset management, securities brokerage, corporate and commercial banking, credit and risk management.  She was the Head of Private Bank, Greater China at Credit Suisse and the CEO of HSBC Broking Services (Asia) Limited.  She had held Executive Officer/Responsible Officer position of various financial institutions covering type 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 licensed activities.

Anna joined the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Hong Kong as Professor of Practice in Finance in July 2017 and is the Program Director for the Bachelor of Finance in Asset Management and Private Banking [BFIN(AMPB)].  She teaches financial regulations, compliance and credit risk management at the Faculty.  Prior to her teaching at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Anna taught at the Law Faculty of the University of Hong Kong convening two core courses in LLM – Compliance and Regulations.

Anna is a Senior Fellow of the HK Securities & Investment Institute, a Chapter Honoree of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, a Non-executive Director of the Insurance Authority, a temporary member of the Financial Reporting Council, a Director of the Hong Kong Sports Institute and an Independent Non-executive Director of Bank of China International Limited.  Her previous appointments included member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission, Director of the Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute and Director of the Hong Kong Securities Association Limited.
