Professor Ahn joined the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in 2014. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from The Ohio State University. He also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Business Administration (Accounting) from Brigham Young University.
Professor Ahn has taught intermediate financial accounting to undergraduate students. His primary research interests are in the areas of off-balance-sheet financing, information intermediaries, and corporate disclosure. In particular, he is interested in the risk-relevancy of assets securitized, the performance of credit rating agencies, and the application of natural language processing techniques to corporate financial reports.
