Biography

Dr. Wang is an associate professor of accounting at the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He joined HKU as the assistant professor in 2011 and was promoted as the associate professor in 2014. Prior to joining HKU, he was an assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wang has taught a wide variety of accounting courses at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels, including the course of Management Accounting for the IMBA program and the course of Intermediate Financial Accounting for the undergraduate program. As an active accounting researcher, Dr. Wang has published articles in leading academic journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies and Contemporary Accounting Research. Topics of his research focus on the issues of firms’ financial reporting quality, sell-side analysts, management earnings forecasts, corporate governance and insider trading. He received the Best Paper Award at the American Accounting Association International Section Midyear Meeting. Dr. Wang holds a PhD degree from Duke University and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Tsinghua University.
