The FSDC Practitioner Speakers Series: Development & Career Opportunities in Asset Management is jointly presented by Faculty of Business and Economics and Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). This forum aims to provide students and young graduates with guidance in and insights into planning their career in the financial industry.
In the financial world, asset management generally refers to the business financial institution making discretionary investment decisions on mainly financial assets on behalf of investors.
Asset management operation team has to support a niche business of asset management in a first class way. It is the “Engine Room” of the investment management business with essential cultural and language awareness and sensitivity; highly adaptable to support new product features and business models on a timely and mission critical basis; as well as operating under very strict risk control and regulatory compliance environment.
Operation is often defined as an essential service supporting routine and standardized processes. A subject matter expert in operation supports product innovation and will be in the forefront of the industry in terms of professionalism, innovation and technical expertise.
